Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier's Puebla flight logs classified for five years
The Puebla state government classified the flight logs, fuel expenses, maintenance records and insurance policies of the governor’s official aircraft for a five‑year period, making the information unavailable to the public until 2031. The decision, approved by the Transparency Committee on 22 May 2026, was justified on security grounds, stating that details such as aircraft registrations, routes, passenger lists and maintenance schedules could jeopardise the safety of the governor and other officials.
In a separate initiative, Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier announced an expansion of the state’s housing program for security personnel. The administration plans to increase the target from 45,000 to up to 70,000 homes, contingent on securing additional land reserves. Recent acquisitions include 3 hectares in Lomas de San Miguel, 6 hectares in Ciudad Maderas, and the former FOVISSSTE site in La Ciénega, which will allow construction of 512 new dwellings. The governor also highlighted ongoing road projects such as the southern arc of the Periférico Ecológico, aimed at reducing travel times across the region.
