Natalia Villalba found dead inside suitcase in Bogotá apartment

The body of 36‑year‑old model Natalia Villalba Angarita, a native of Cúcuta, was discovered on 22 June 2026 inside a suitcase placed in the bathroom of a short‑term rental apartment in the Chapinero district of Bogotá. Cleaning staff entered the unit after the tenant failed to respond at the end of the lease and found the suitcase under a running shower; the corpse showed signs of violence.

The Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación (CTI) of the Fiscalía took over the scene, collecting personal items including two passports (one expired, one valid) with recent travel stamps to Spain. Preliminary inquiries indicate that two foreign nationals are persons of interest: an American citizen from Texas who stayed in the apartment from 3 to 7 June, and a British citizen captured on security cameras entering on 17 June and leaving the next day while carrying linens to the building’s laundry area. The British suspect is believed to have left the country.

Authorities are reviewing video footage, gathering fingerprints and other forensic evidence, and have not yet named any suspects. The victim’s sister has appealed for respect and an end to speculation, describing the situation as "cruel and inhumane."
