A new migrant caravan consisting of approximately 400 Hondurans has departed from San Pedro Sula, heading toward the United States via Guatemala and Mexico. Participants cited a lack of employment, economic instability, and a lack of government representation as primary reasons for the journey.

As the group enters Guatemala, the Instituto Guatemalteco de Migración (IGM) reported that over 250 individuals entered the country regularly, while more than 100 were issued sanctions for irregular entry. Authorities also identified eight unaccompanied adolescents, who have been transferred to the Procuraduría General de la Nación (PGN) for protection and care.

The U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa has issued warnings to the migrants, stating that the borders are closed to those violating the law and that illegal entry attempts will result in deportation. While migrants can move through the CA-4 region without visas, they will face strict visa requirements upon reaching the Mexican border.
