Honduran President Nasry Asfura Presents Six-Month Government Review

President Nasry Asfura and his administration held a press conference to present a six‑month review of the Honduran government. The briefing detailed the state of the country at the start of his term—paralysed institutions, abandoned projects, large debts and deteriorating services—and listed concrete actions taken since taking office. Initiatives highlighted include expanding educational connectivity, performing thousands of surgeries, deploying Community Medical Units, strengthening anti‑crime measures, resuming infrastructure works, acquiring equipment for municipal distribution, reorganising public finances and the electricity utility ENEE, securing international cooperation and linking thousands of Hondurans to jobs at home and abroad.

Designated presidential María Antonieta Mejía emphasized that “putting the house in order” is unpopular with many, but stressed the president’s willingness to address structural problems and called on the private sector, civil society and the media to actively monitor government actions.
