Honduras: Calls for civic accountability and U.S. migration warnings
In Honduras, legal analyst Marcela Caro has issued a public call for citizens to demand accountability and reject corruption. Caro, an expert in U.S. immigration law, urged the population to defend national institutions and resources regardless of political affiliation, emphasizing that sovereignty belongs to the people rather than political elites.
Simultaneously, the United States Embassy in Tegucigalpa has issued warnings to Hondurans regarding migrant caravans. The diplomatic mission cautioned that traveling in large groups does not guarantee access to the U.S. border and warned that the border remains closed to illegal immigration. The Embassy advised against trusting false promises, noting that irregular attempts to cross may result in immediate detention and deportation.
