Honduras coffee production could exceed 7.5 million bags by 2026

Honduran coffee production is projected to potentially exceed 7.5 million bags for the 2026-2027 harvest cycle. Basilio Fuschich, president of the Association of Coffee Exporters (ADECAFEH), stated that the current season is expected to close with approximately 7.2 million bags.

Future production levels will depend heavily on weather patterns over the coming months. While mountainous areas with shade systems are currently in good condition, a lack of rainfall is impacting plantations at lower altitudes. Experts noted that irregular rain could affect bean quality and weight.

Economic outlooks remain positive due to favorable international prices. The current season has already generated over $2.4 billion in foreign exchange. If coffee prices remain above $300 per bag and export volumes increase, the country could reach new record highs in coffee revenue.
