Honduras completes rain stimulation flights to combat drought
Honduras has completed 20 rain stimulation flights aimed at supporting agriculture and replenishing water reserves. The operation covered an estimated 1.8 to 2.3 million hectares across several strategic regions, including Valle, Choluteca, Comayagua, and areas near the Francisco Morazán hydroelectric dam.
The project involved an investment of approximately $750,000. Using silver iodide, pilots dispersed a total of 2,000 liters of liquid product over cloud formations to encourage larger particle formation and increase precipitation. The initiative is part of a broader effort to mitigate the effects of drought in key agricultural zones and water basins.
