Honduras Constitutional Chamber admits 12 amparo resources

The Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice has admitted 12 amparo resources filed by former members of the National Congress's Permanent Commission. These legal actions seek access to case files related to investigations against the former members.

Magistrate Francisca Villela, coordinator of the Constitutional Chamber, clarified that the admission of these resources does not include a suspension of the contested acts. Consequently, the ongoing legal proceedings against the applicants will not be halted while the constitutional process unfolds.

Among the admitted resources are two filed on behalf of former President of the National Congress, Luis Redondo. The investigations by the Public Ministry stem from a session involving the vote recount of the November 30, 2025, electoral process under Decree 50-2025. The Chamber is currently awaiting background documentation from the National Congress to proceed with the formal legal steps.
