Honduras reduces expected egg price increase

The Honduran Secretariat of Economic Development (SDE) has reduced the projected price increase for eggs from L 20 to L 8. This measure follows negotiations aimed at mitigating the impact of rising costs on household budgets.

As part of this initiative, SDE General Secretary Mariano Torres and BANASUPRO Manager Aron Reaños reached an agreement to maintain the price of a medium carton of eggs at L 95 across all BANASUPRO sales points.

Danilo Lou, Director of Consumer Protection, noted that the initial price pressure was driven by rising production and commercialization costs, specifically the increased cost of imported inputs such as corn and soy used for poultry feed, alongside logistics and transportation expenses.
