Honduras serves as strategic hub for US and Israeli influence

Honduras is being utilized as a strategic platform for United States and Israeli interests in Latin America and the Caribbean. This influence is exerted through a combination of military, economic, and technological strategies designed to redefine the region's future.

The approach involves a diverse deployment including troop presence, operational bases, security installations, arms sales, and the dispatch of military advisors. Beyond traditional military means, the strategy incorporates fifth-generation warfare (5GW), characterized by hybrid and asymmetric tactics such as mass surveillance, cyber warfare, disinformation, and psychological manipulation.

International political analyst Marco Consolo notes that Israeli involvement has expanded from arms sales to the use of Big Data for electoral manipulation, the commercialization of spyware, and the provision of algorithmic analysis platforms. These efforts aim to secure strategic resources and logistical corridors while countering Chinese expansion in critical sectors like rare earth minerals, infrastructure, and technology. Additionally, the strategy seeks to impede regional integration and independence movements in Latin America.
