Hong Kong administrator schedules live‑broadcast owners’ meeting for fire‑damaged Wang Fuk Court

The government‑appointed administrator, Hop On Management, will hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) for the owners of Wang Fuk Court on 19 July. The meeting will be broadcast live from four community centres – Tai Po, Tin Shui Wai, Kai Tak and Wah Kwai – to accommodate owners who have been resettled across Hong Kong after the November fire that killed 168 people and displaced nearly 5,000 residents.

The agenda includes a report on the handover from the former owners’ corporation, an update on Wang Chi House (the only block spared by the blaze), and the initiation of refunds of the remaining repair‑fund balance to all owners. The meeting follows months of petitions by residents demanding a forum to discuss long‑term resettlement, inspection reports and the return of personal belongings.

The tribunal previously rejected Hop On’s request to postpone the meeting deadline, forcing the administrator to schedule the EGM within the statutory timeframe.
