Hong Kong announces Mid-Autumn Festival transport and tour activities

Various organizations in Hong Kong have announced special activities to celebrate the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival.

Wah Tai International, in collaboration with the ‘Co-create Ming Teen Plan’, will launch the ‘Wah Tai Light Rail Ding Ding Fun’ event on September 25, 2026. During this day, passengers can travel on the entire MTR Light Rail network for free from the first service until 23:59. While Octopus card users must still tap in and out to maintain station order and track passenger flow, no fares will be deducted.

Additionally, Citybus is partnering with the Wan Chai Blue House to offer a themed open-top bus tour titled ‘Moon Gazing Hong Kong Island Tour’ (Route H1M). Running from September 24 to 27, 2026, the tour includes six scheduled trips. The experience features themed guides, traditional lantern riddles, and visits to landmarks such as Kennedy Town, Central Harbourfront, and Victoria Park. The tour costs HKD 198 per person.
