Hong Kong conducts emergency response drill for Huanggang Port opening

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government conducted an interdepartmental tabletop exercise at Police Headquarters to enhance emergency response and coordination ahead of the opening of the Huanggang Port.

The drill utilized realistic scenarios to test responses to potential emergencies, including extreme weather, power outages, fires within port buildings, serious traffic accidents on new connecting roads, and the detection of infectious diseases among arriving passengers. Participating entities included the Security Bureau, Transport and Logistics Bureau, Hong Kong Police Force, Fire Services Department, and several other government departments.

To strengthen the notification and coordination mechanisms between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, representatives from Shenzhen participated in the exercise via online exchanges. Security Bureau Secretary Deng Bingqiang attended the drill to inspect the proceedings.
