Hong Kong dining scene features new openings and National Day promotions

Hong Kong's culinary scene features several notable updates for October 2026, including new restaurant openings and seasonal promotions.

At the Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, the Italian restaurant Cucina will host Michelin-starred chef Igor Macchia from October 14 to 18. Macchia, from Turin’s La Credenza, will offer a variety of dining experiences, including a tasting menu featuring signature dishes such as curry and coconut risotto and Sicilian red prawn tartare.

In Soho, a new gastropub named The Boar is opening, managed by the team behind Bourke’s and Honky Tonks Tavern, offering an all-day menu of casual bites.

In celebration of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, over 2,000 establishments in Hong Kong are participating in dining promotions. Many restaurants and Chinese dining halls are offering discounts, with specific focus on the silver economy by providing special offers for senior citizens. For example, Maxim's Group is offering a 30% discount on specific soft meals for seniors at select Maxim's Palace branches and August Flower through the end of 2026.
