Hong Kong hosts Belt and Road Summit and youth economic forums

The 11th Belt and Road Summit opened in Hong Kong, with Hong Kong Trade Development Council Chairman Ma Shiheng emphasizing that diversification is a necessity in the current volatile macro environment. He noted that market focus is expanding beyond traditional partners toward emerging regions such as ASEAN, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. To support this, the summit introduced a 'GoGlobal' segment to help mainland enterprises utilize Hong Kong's professional services to enter global markets.

Simultaneously, the 2026 Shanghai-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Economic Development Forum was held in Hong Kong. As a co-organizer, the Macao Elite Association, led by Chairman Ho Yau-hang, participated in the event alongside over 300 young elites from Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Macao. The forum focused on themes of scientific innovation, financing, and global market positioning, facilitating discussions on cross-border investment and the internationalization of tech enterprises to promote regional synergy within the Greater Bay Area.
