Hong Kong launches city-wide support for Asian Games athletes

Hong Kong has launched a city-wide initiative to support the Chinese Hong Kong delegation during the 20th Asian Games. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has established ‘Vitality Asian Games Viewing Stations’ across 18 districts in designated sports centers, which will remain open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM until October 4.

Kai Tak Sports Park is serving as a primary cheering hub, featuring large-scale light shows on its exterior walls displaying animations of various sporting events and messages of support. The park is also hosting live broadcasts and exhibitions of team uniforms.

Former sports stars, including volleyball player Sun Yue, table tennis player Li Ho-ching, and swimmer Sze Hang-yee, are participating in the festivities to encourage a culture of sportsmanship. They expressed hope that the event would inspire the next generation and strengthen the local sporting community. Various community groups, schools, and even local restaurants have joined the movement by hosting themed exhibitions, sports experience days, and live viewing sessions.
