Hong Kong tech talent initiative connects European innovators to Greater Bay Area
Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) and the EuroTech Federation co-organized a Europe-wide Information and Technology (I&T) hackathon to connect international tech talent with opportunities in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The event attracted approximately 1,200 applicants from over 25 countries, with 250 reaching the final round. Following the competition, 90 percent of finalists reported increased interest in Hong Kong and mainland GBA cities. A delegation of 20 winners visited key innovation hubs, including Cyberport, Hong Kong Science Park, the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, and Northern Metropolis.
In Shenzhen and Guangzhou, participants met with local organizations to discuss industrial applications for artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, and smart transport solutions. The initiative aims to position Hong Kong as a primary gateway for global innovators seeking to enter the regional tech ecosystem.
