Hong Kong Tourism Board launches International Lantern Spectacular

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has launched the inaugural International Lantern Spectacular at Victoria Park. The event features more than 3,000 lanterns from 20 different countries and regions.

In addition to international displays, the event includes traditional Hong Kong lanterns and Nanjing Qinhuai lantern installations, which are recognized as National Intangible Cultural Heritage. The celebration is part of the broader Mid-Autumn Festival season and is held in conjunction with the Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival 2026.

HKTB Chairman Dr. Peter Lam stated that the initiative aims to link diverse citywide festivities, such as the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, to create a large-scale international festive experience. The goal is to leverage Hong Kong’s cultural traditions to drive tourism and economic consumption.
