Hong Kong's Victoria Park hosts international lantern exhibition

Thousands of visitors have flocked to Victoria Park in Hong Kong to experience the World Lantern Boulevard, an international exhibition featuring over 3,000 lanterns from 20 different countries. The event showcases a diverse array of designs, construction techniques, and cultural traditions from around the globe.

Notable displays include silk lanterns from Jinzhou, South Korea, which are traditionally used to wish for family health and prosperity; colorful fabric lanterns from Brazil; and Polish lanterns featuring traditional paper-cutting techniques. Other exhibits include lanterns with Middle Eastern aesthetics and star-like designs.

Due to high public demand and massive crowds—which have resulted in wait times of up to two hours during peak periods—organizers have extended the exhibition. Originally scheduled to conclude on September 27, the event will now remain open until October 4.
