Honor Magic 9 leaks suggest 500mm teleconverter and 8,000mAh battery

Leaks regarding the upcoming Honor Magic 9 series suggest significant hardware advancements, most notably a 500mm external teleconverter module. This accessory would provide approximately 20.8x optical zoom, potentially surpassing the 400mm module found in the Vivo X300 Ultra. If paired with a rumored 200MP periscope sensor, the combination could theoretically achieve up to 1,000mm of zoom.

Beyond photography, a special edition of the device is expected to feature an active cooling fan and a unique 1:1 square front-facing selfie camera, targeting users engaged in long-duration streaming or heavy video processing. The series is also rumored to include a high-capacity 8,000mAh battery utilizing third-generation Qinghai Lake silicon-carbon technology, allowing for increased density in a relatively compact 6.36-inch form factor.

Technical specifications suggest the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Honor is also reportedly collaborating with professional cinema camera manufacturer ARRI to implement AI-driven image processing and color grading. While these details remain unconfirmed by Honor, they indicate a push toward professional-grade mobile imaging and performance.
