Hoshino Resorts launches new cultural stay plan at Kai Unzen

Hoshino Resorts has announced a new luxury stay package at Kai Unzen, located in Nagasaki Prefecture, titled ‘Exotic Blissful Long Bath Plan’. The plan, which begins sales on October 1, 2026, is designed to promote regional economic revitalization in Kyushu following the effects of the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake.

The package focuses on the unique ‘Wakaran’ culture of Nagasaki—a blend of Japanese, Chinese, and Dutch influences. Guests can experience private long baths in rooms where the open-air bath space occupies more than half of the total area. Amenities include specialized bath pillows, footbath cushions, and a ‘long bath set’ featuring stained-glass-themed pudding and chilled amazake.

Additionally, the plan includes ‘Onsen Culture Iroha’, a guided tour of the adjacent Unzen Jigoku led by staff to teach guests about the history of the hot springs and local steaming techniques. Other cultural activities include letterpress printing and Kaiseki cuisine inspired by traditional Shippoku cooking. The plan is available from October 6, 2026, to March 31, 2027, with limited availability of five groups per day.
