Hospice and palliative care networks host community events

In observance of World Hospice Day, various palliative and hospice organizations are hosting community events to provide information on end-of-life care and support services.

In Heidelberg, Germany, the Palliative and Hospice Network is organizing two events in the Old Town. On October 9, 2026, an information stand will be available at the Anatomiegarten to explain outpatient and inpatient services, financing, and professional expertise. On October 11, 2026, a special matinee screening of the film ‘Ich sterbe. Kommst du?’ will be held at the Gloria Kino, followed by a presentation from network members.

In Schmalkalden, the outpatient hospice and palliative advisory service ‘Herzenszeit’ is hosting an open house on October 7, 2026. Under the motto ‘Hospice is colorful!’, the event aims to reduce the stigma surrounding hospice work and answer questions regarding palliative care, caregiver relief, and supporting patients who wish to remain at home during terminal illness.
