Hospital de Cuenca to install solar canopies for energy self-consumption

The Hospital de Cuenca is set to undergo a significant transformation of its parking facilities. The Castilla-La Mancha Health Service (Sescam) has initiated the procurement of technical assistance to design a photovoltaic solar installation using parking canopies.

The project aims to utilize the existing vehicle surface area to generate electricity for the hospital's own self-consumption. These structures will serve a dual purpose: providing support for solar panels and offering covered parking spaces to protect vehicles from sun and weather. The system is designed as a self-consumption model without batteries or surplus energy storage, meaning all generated power will be used directly by the hospital complex.

Sescam requires the installation to be capable of real-time monitoring and supervision at the module, string, and system levels to maximize performance and facilitate maintenance.
