Hospital fire in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern kills two and injures dozens

A fire broke out in a patient room at the LUP clinic near Ludwigslust, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and quickly spread to the roof of the hospital. Emergency services evacuated patients and staff as the blaze intensified. Officials confirmed at least two people died and more than 30 were injured.

The incident, reported on Thursday morning, prompted a large-scale response from fire brigades and medical teams. The LUP clinic, which provides basic medical care to the region with over 160 beds, remained partially unusable while the situation was assessed.
