Hospital Marieta Konder Bornhausen power outage forces patient relocation

A short circuit in a low-voltage busbar caused a power outage at the Madre Teresa Complex of the Hospital and Maternity Marieta Konder Bornhausen in Itajaí. The failure affected the equipment responsible for distributing energy from the substation and generators to different floors, preventing backup power from reaching certain areas.

As a preventive measure, patients from the Neonatal and Adult Intensive Care Units (ICUs) were relocated to other floors within the same hospital. Additionally, ten patients were safely transferred to other medical units in the region. The emergency room remains operational but with temporary limitations. Engineers from Celesc are working to resolve the issue, and power is being restored gradually.
