Hospitality developments: Novotel Cairns completes refurbishment and Rydges begins construction in New Zealand

The Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort in Australia has completed the final stage of a multi-year, multi-million-dollar refurbishment. The 314-room property has introduced updated guestrooms featuring refurbished bathrooms, new beds, and contemporary furnishings, following previous upgrades to its dining venues and public spaces.

In New Zealand, construction has commenced on a new 158-room Rydges hotel in Tauranga. Developed by EVT Hotels and Resorts, the project is expected to be completed in late 2028 and will include a restaurant, a bar, and meeting facilities capable of hosting up to 322 delegates.
