Overview
Hospitality developments across the Asia-Pacific region have included both large-scale refurbishments and new luxury openings.
In Australia, the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort completed a multi-year, multi-million-dollar refurbishment of its 314 rooms, while the former Adina Serviced Apartments Canberra Dickson began rebranding as Quest Canberra Dickson. In New Zealand, construction started on a 158-room Rydges hotel in Tauranga, slated for completion in late 2028.
New luxury properties also entered the market, including the five-star Hotel Riu Palace Phuket in Thailand, which features 504 rooms and various dining and pool facilities. In South Korea, the Aman brand launched Aman Seoul in Cheongdam, a development overlooking the Han River that includes a hotel, branded residences, and a wellness center.
