Egypt extends Hossam Hassan's national team contract until 2030

The Egyptian Football Association has officially extended the contract of head coach Hossam Hassan and his technical staff until 2030. The decision aims to provide long-term stability for the national team as they prepare for future major tournaments, including the 2030 World Cup.

The extension follows a period of significant success under Hassan, who took charge in early 2024. Most notably, he led the Pharaohs to the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, marking the first time Egypt has reached that stage in the tournament's history. During that campaign, Egypt secured its first-ever World Cup victory by defeating New Zealand 3-1 before being eliminated by Argentina in a 3-2 match.

Additionally, Hassan led the team to the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The signing ceremony included association officials Hany Abou Rida, Khaled El-Dirandaly, and Dr. Mostafa Azzam, alongside Hassan and team manager Ibrahim Hassan. If Hassan completes the full term of this contract, he is set to match the record for the longest tenure as Egypt's national team manager.
