Egypt national football team coaching leadership

Egypt national football team head coach Hossam Hassan has reportedly agreed to a contract extension with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) that would keep him in his position until 2030. The agreement includes a significant salary increase, with Hassan set to receive EGP3 million per month after tax, and is tied to performance targets such as reaching the 2027 AFCON semifinals and qualifying for the 2030 World Cup.

Following these reports, the EFA officially renewed Hassan’s contract through 2030 to provide stability for the technical staff. The extension follows recent achievements, including leading the team to the Round of 16 in the 2026 World Cup and the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. During the 2026 World Cup campaign, Egypt secured its first-ever tournament victory by defeating New Zealand 3-1 before being eliminated by Argentina in a 3-2 match.

The official signing ceremony included EFA officials Hany Abou Rida, Khaled El-Dirandaly, and Dr. Mostafa Azzam, alongside Hassan and team manager Ibrahim Hassan. If Hassan completes the full term of this contract, he will match Hassan Shehata for the longest tenure as Egypt's national team manager.
