House fire in Kediri, Indonesia suspected arson leaves no injuries
A house belonging to 37‑year‑old Erma Puspita in Dusun Mangunrejo, Kediri, burned on the early morning of 16 July 2026. The blaze destroyed part of the building, all furnishings and a Honda PCX motorbike, with estimated losses of about IDR 1 billion. Police suspect the fire was deliberately set by the victim’s former husband, but the allegation remains under investigation. No deaths or injuries were reported; the family, including two school‑going children, escaped unharmed. Local fire crews battled the flames for more than two hours, finally extinguishing the fire around 04:30 WIB.
Authorities continue to probe the cause and potential criminal liability, while the affected residents face significant material loss.
