Housing initiatives launched in Costa Rica and Uruguay
Housing initiatives are being launched in Costa Rica and Uruguay to facilitate property ownership and investment.
In Costa Rica, Grupo Mutual has announced its Expo Vivienda Mutual, running through September and October. The program offers specialized financing conditions for purchasing, constructing, repairing, or expanding homes. Aimed at addressing barriers such as down payments and credit access, the initiative includes fixed-rate credits for two years and personalized advisory services. This comes as data indicates approximately 350,000 households in Costa Rica currently rent, with over 81% facing difficulties accessing housing loans.
In Uruguay, the Agencia Nacional de Vivienda (ANV) has opened a call for the purchase of various properties. The offering includes 36 refurbished homes across several departments, including Artigas, Canelones, Maldonado, Montevideo, Paysandú, Salto, Tacuarembó, and Treinta y Tres. Additionally, investment opportunities are available for a plot of land in Paso de los Toros and a commercial premises in Montevideo. Interested parties must follow specific registration deadlines in late September via the ANV website or in person.
