Housing Minister visits Arauca to review rural housing projects
Colombia's Minister of Housing, City, and Territory, Jaime Andrés Beltrán Martínez, visited the department of Arauca to review rural housing and infrastructure initiatives. This visit marks the first official trip to the region by a cabinet member of the current national administration.
A central focus of the visit was the Fundación El Alcaraván, an organization supported by voluntary social investments from SierraCol Energy and Ecopetrol. The foundation has delivered more than 1,500 homes through its construction and improvement models. A new phase of the program is underway, aiming to provide 97 additional housing solutions for families in Arauca and Arauquita.
During the visit, the Minister met with regional authorities, private sector representatives, and community leaders to discuss territorial development, urban and rural growth, and quality of life improvements. The program involves a coordinated effort between the national government, energy companies, local authorities, and community organizations such as JACUP and JUNCALI.
