Houston Cougars prepare for UCF matchup amid kickoff scheduling dispute

No. 20 ranked Houston prepares to host UCF in a Big 12 Conference matchup this Saturday. The Cougars enter the game with a 3-1 record following a 42-28 victory over Georgia Southern, led by quarterback Conner Weigman, who has recorded 11 touchdowns and only one interception through four games.

Despite the high ranking, the University of Houston expressed frustration that the game is scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. kickoff at TDECU Stadium. The athletics department had requested a night game to accommodate fans attending the Houston Athletics Hall of Fame Gala on Friday night. The request was reportedly not granted by the Big 12 Conference or ESPN.

UCF also enters the contest with a 3-1 record after defeating TCU. The Knights will be playing without Alonza Barnett III, who has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
