Houston rallies to defeat UCF 27-17 in Big 12 matchup
No. 20 Houston overcame a 17-0 deficit to defeat UCF 27-17 in a Big 12 Conference matchup at TDECU Stadium. The Cougars scored 27 unanswered points in the second half to secure the victory.
Quarterback Conner Weigman led the comeback, rushing for three second-half touchdowns and passing for 239 yards. Despite reportedly playing while ill, Weigman became the first Houston signal-caller to record three rushing touchdowns since September 2023. Kicker Jonathan Dimas contributed two field goals to seal the win.
UCF's attack was led by Keyone Jenkins, who threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Josh Derry and scored on a 5-yard run. However, the Knights' offense stalled in the second half, as the Houston defense held UCF to only 48 total yards in the fourth quarter. Latreveon McCutchin provided a momentum shift with a critical interception.
