Houthi forces move troops to Marib amid reports of civilian convoy missile strike
The Houthi movement has reportedly transferred significant numbers of fighters from the West Coast to the Marib fronts, specifically to the Al-Jouba and Al-Abdiya areas. These reinforcements, accompanied by light and medium weapons and ammunition, include personnel previously part of the National Resistance forces. This movement is expected to increase pressure on government forces in southern Marib.
In addition to troop movements, the Houthis have intensified local recruitment efforts in rural areas of Dhamar, Sanaa, Ibb, and Hajjah.
Amidst these military escalations, a humanitarian tragedy occurred on the road to Aden. A Houthi missile reportedly struck a convoy of displaced civilians fleeing combat zones in Hays, Al-Khawkha, and Al-Mukha. Preliminary reports from human rights lawyer Abdulrahman Barman indicate that over 100 civilians, including many women and children, were killed as approximately 15 vehicles caught fire. Human rights advocates are calling for an urgent and independent investigation into the strike on the fleeing civilians.
