Houthi forces used old Al-Dhale hospital strike footage in new propaganda

An investigation by the open-source unit of Al-Jumhuriya Channel has revealed that Houthi forces used old footage of a field hospital strike in Al-Dhale province to create a new propaganda video. The Houthi group claimed the footage documented recent military operations against Yemeni armed forces in Marib and the West Coast.

Satellite imagery and visual markers confirm that the footage actually dates back to March 2023, showing an attack on a field hospital in the Al-Majrad area of the Hajr district in northwest Al-Dhale. The investigation also noted discrepancies in other parts of the video, where certain explosions appeared disproportionately large compared to other scenes, leading to questions regarding the potential digital manipulation or staged nature of the footage.

The release of this video coincides with increased operations by Yemeni armed forces against Houthi positions and vehicles across various fronts.
