Houthi missile attacks in Yemen kill three civilians

The Iran-backed Houthi militia launched ballistic missile attacks on farms in Yemen's Hodeidah province, killing at least three civilians, including a 13-year-old child. The targeted area is controlled by government forces supported by Saudi Arabia.

In the Red Sea, the UK Maritime Trade Operations reported that a cargo ship sustained significant damage after being struck by several unidentified projectiles approximately 40 nautical miles southeast of the Yemeni port city of Mocha. No crew members were on board at the time of the incident.

These escalations occur despite calls from the UN Human Rights Office for both government forces and rebels to cease mutual attacks. The ongoing instability in the region threatens the Bab al-Mandab Strait, a critical maritime chokepoint through which approximately ten percent of global maritime trade passes.
