The Riyadh-led coalition announced that Houthi-led attacks using ballistic missiles and drones targeted civilian areas in the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif on Monday, September 14, 2026. The strikes resulted in 13 civilian injuries, ranging from minor to moderate, and caused property damage to seven residential homes and two vehicles.

In response, the Saudi government vowed to respond firmly to protect its sovereignty. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, condemning the attacks as violations of international law and the UN Charter.

The Houthi group claimed that Saudi warplanes conducted approximately 54 airstrikes on Yemeni locations within a 24-hour period. Meanwhile, the Saudi Civil Defense issued early warning sirens in several cities, including Jeddah, Yanbu, and Taif, before later announcing that the immediate danger had passed.
