A Houthi missile attack on the Egyptian-owned cargo vessel Tihamah in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait has resulted in at least six deaths and ten injuries. The fatalities include four crew members—three Pakistani nationals and one Indonesian national—and two Yemeni rescue personnel who were killed during a second 'double-tap' strike while attempting to assist the vessel.

The Tihamah, which is sailing under the Tanzanian flag and owned by companies in Egypt and Yemen, sustained significant damage and caught fire following the initial ballistic missile strikes. While Houthi-run media claimed the target was a Saudi ship carrying military equipment, maritime intelligence indicates the vessel was a commercial ship transporting food.

In a separate maritime incident, a US Navy MH-60 helicopter fired Hellfire missiles at the rudder of the Panama-flagged container ship Vela Nova off the coast of Pakistan. The US military stated the action was taken after the vessel ignored warnings and attempted to violate a naval blockade of Iranian ports in the Gulf of Oman.
