Houthi rebels attack Saudi military base in Sharurah

Houthi rebels in Yemen have launched a coordinated attack against a military base in the Sharurah region of southeastern Saudi Arabia. According to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, the operation utilized a large number of ballistic missiles and drones to target weapon depots and command-and-control centers. The group claimed the strike was a direct response to ongoing Saudi military actions in Yemen and warned of more lethal attacks if hostilities continue.

In the Jizan region near the Yemeni border, a projectile strike resulted in two injuries and caused significant damage to a local mosque, residential buildings, and vehicles, according to Saudi Civil Defense.

The escalation follows recent regional instability, including Houthi advances in western Yemen and control over the port of Mocha. The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially condemned the attacks, expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia and emphasizing the need to protect commercial navigation and regional stability in the Red Sea.
