Saudi-led coalition forces reported intercepting a drone south of Mecca, which they claim was an attempt to target the holy city. Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi has vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them “fabrication and misinformation” intended to justify military actions against Yemen.

In Yemen, fighting has intensified, with Houthi sources reporting 40 fighters killed in Saudi airstrikes and battles in Taiz, Marib, and Hajjah provinces. Conversely, Yemeni government forces reported 23 soldiers killed in Houthi attacks in Taiz and Lahj. The conflict has also seen reports of drone activity and anti-aircraft fire over Sanaa.

Amidst the violence, Saudi Arabia has reportedly proposed a two-week ceasefire through Oman to facilitate direct negotiations and address humanitarian concerns. Meanwhile, Iran's foreign ministry has rejected Saudi allegations regarding the Mecca drone, stating that interception does not prove responsibility and warning against the politicization of Islamic holy sites.
