Traffic restrictions and road closures reported in Mexico and Colombia

Various traffic and environmental restrictions are affecting regions in Mexico and Colombia. In Dosquebradas, Colombia, a three-day 'Car Free Day' has been implemented from August 12 to 14 to facilitate emergency response and heavy machinery movement following an earthquake.

In Mexico, the 'Hoy No Circula' environmental program continues to regulate vehicle circulation in Mexico City and 18 municipalities of the State of Mexico. On Thursday, August 13, vehicles with green stickers and license plate endings 1 and 2 are restricted. On Friday, August 14, vehicles with blue stickers and plate endings 9 and 0 are prohibited from circulating between 5:00 and 22:00 hours.

Additionally, several road accidents have caused partial closures on major Mexican highways, including the Texcoco-Ecatepec road, the Peñón-Texcoco road, and the Cárdenas-Coatzacoalcos highway in Veracruz. Authorities have advised motorists to use alternative routes and exercise caution.
