Hoymiles launches 22-kW V2X DC charger for home energy ecosystems
Hoymiles has launched a 22-kW V2X DC charger designed to integrate electric vehicles into a comprehensive home energy ecosystem. The device works with the HiOne All-in-One Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to allow solar power, battery storage, and EVs to function as a single integrated system.
The charger features bidirectional capabilities, enabling Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) functionality to provide backup power during grid outages, and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionality to support peak shaving and virtual power plant dispatch. By utilizing direct DC charging from photovoltaic systems and battery storage, the device bypasses the vehicle’s onboard charger, reducing energy losses associated with AC/DC conversion.
With a power capacity of up to 22 kW, the charger aims to significantly reduce charging times compared to traditional AC chargers. The system is designed for broad compatibility, supporting approximately 95% of mainstream electric vehicles, and includes an EU MID-certified meter for accurate energy monitoring.
