HP unveils OmniBook 5 AI laptop with OLED display

HP has announced the OmniBook 5, a 14-inch AI-capable laptop designed to compete with Apple’s MacBook Neo in the budget-friendly segment. Starting at approximately $699, the device features an aluminum chassis and is available in several colors, including silver, blue, pink, and green.

The laptop is powered by Intel’s Wildcat Lake processors, with configurations ranging from the Intel Core 5 315 to the Intel Core 7 350. It includes an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to support AI-driven tasks and Windows Studio Effects. A key highlight is the 14-inch OLED display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, though a higher-resolution 2.5K touchscreen variant is expected in the future.

HP claims the OmniBook 5 can achieve up to 42 hours of battery life during local video playback tests. The entry-level model is equipped with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, while higher-end configurations offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The device is expected to be available for purchase starting in October.
