HP announces EliteBoard G2a AI-powered keyboard PC

HP has announced the EliteBoard G2a, a new generation of AI-powered keyboard computers designed to meet Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC standards. The device maintains a compact form factor, measuring approximately 36 by 12 centimeters and weighing around 680 grams, featuring a spill-resistant, backlit membrane keyboard with a dedicated Copilot key.

Under the hood, the EliteBoard G2a utilizes AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 series processors. Available configurations include the Ryzen AI 5 PRO 435 with Radeon 840M graphics or the higher-end Ryzen AI 7 PRO 450 with Radeon 860M graphics. Both options feature a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) delivering up to 50 TOPS of AI computing power. Unlike many ultra-compact machines, the device offers hardware modularity with two non-soldered SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and an expandable SSD up to 2 TB.

Connectivity is focused on modern standards, offering one USB4 port (40 Gbit/s) and one USB-C port (10 Gbit/s), both capable of external display support. The device lacks USB-A and Ethernet ports. It includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and Poly Studio speakers. An optional 32 Wh internal battery is available to allow seamless movement between workstations. Pricing starts at $3,028 in the United States.
