HSBC Indonesia launches sharia-compliant gold mining mutual fund
HSBC Indonesia has expanded its wealth management offerings by introducing the Batavia Gold Sharia Equity USD mutual fund. Managed by PT Batavia Prosperindo Aset Manajemen (BPAM), this sharia-compliant product provides investors with exposure to global gold mining and precious metals companies through an actively managed strategy.
The launch responds to growing investor interest in gold as a strategic asset for portfolio diversification. According to the HSBC Global Affluent Investor Snapshot 2026, which surveyed nearly 10,000 high-net-worth individuals across 10 markets, gold is one of the most widely held assets globally. The report noted that nine out of ten global investors plan to maintain or increase their gold allocations.
Lanny Hendra, International Wealth and Premier Banking Director at HSBC Indonesia, stated that the product allows clients to benefit from positive trends in the gold industry. The fund is available to HSBC Indonesia customers with a minimum initial purchase of 10,000 USD.
