HSBC Indonesia introduced the Batavia Gold Sharia Equity USD mutual fund, managed by PT Batavia Prosperindo Aset Manajemen. The launch follows reports indicating that gold remains a widely held asset, with many global investors planning to maintain or increase their allocations.

Concurrently, PT Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN) partnered with PT Mentari Bayt Coin (MBC) to develop a gold-based sharia financial ecosystem. This collaboration includes the provision of MBC gold products to BSN, incorporating a buyback mechanism to serve the community’s interest in gold as an asset preservation instrument.

In a formalization of this partnership in Yogyakarta, the collaboration has expanded to include the provision of 99.99 percent pure, SNI-certified gold bullion for BSN. This initiative is designed to provide customers with integrated gold-based investment and management solutions through the inclusion of buyback services.
