Hsin-Ju Chuang, former Hack VC partner, dies at 37
Hsin-Ju Chuang, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency industry, died at age 37 on August 24. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner and the California Highway Patrol, Chuang was found on southbound Interstate 15 south of Field Road in California, where she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet publicly disclosed a cause of death.
Chuang was the founder of Dystopia Labs and had held significant leadership roles, including head of growth at Stellar and Solana. She joined the venture capital firm Hack VC as a venture partner in 2021 and was serving as a partner and head of platform as of 2025.
Alexander Pack, co-founder and managing partner of Hack VC, expressed that the firm was ‘shocked and saddened’ by the news. Pack noted that the company had not been in direct contact with Chuang for over 10 months and requested respect for those grieving. Prior to her death, Chuang had publicly alleged that Hack VC had mistreated her during her tenure at the firm.
