Hsinchu City to host International Children's Day road run
The Hsinchu City Government, in collaboration with the Hsinchu Marathon Rotary Club, will host the International Children's Day road run on November 7 at the Zuian Touqian River. The event is designed to advocate for the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), focusing on principles such as non-discrimination, the best interests of the child, and the right to life, survival, and development.
In addition to the road run, the event will feature 55 themed carnival booths, stage performances, and interactive games to educate families on children's rights. The program also incorporates pet-friendly elements, allowing citizens to participate with their pets and utilize nearby municipal pet parks.
Mayor Kao Hung-an highlighted the city's commitment to the “government cares for ages 0 to 6” vision. This initiative includes providing childbirth subsidies, parenting allowances, and expanding public childcare resources, including night and holiday services, to support families and ensure equitable educational opportunities.
