Huế Court sentences pair to 40 years for drug trafficking

The People's Court of Huế has sentenced Trần Thị Ngọc Linh and Nguyễn Văn Toàn to 40 years in prison for the illegal sale of narcotics.

According to the indictment, the pair conspired to sell 2kg of methamphetamine (crystal meth). In August 2025, Linh traveled from Quảng Trị to Huế to facilitate the transaction after Toàn identified a potential buyer. While Linh was waiting near Bùi Thị Xuân Park to complete the deal, she was intercepted by the Huế City Police. Authorities seized approximately 1,943.87 grams of methamphetamine at the scene. Both defendants reportedly cooperated with authorities during the legal proceedings.
